Camp LAMAS, our summer arts enrichment program for children ages 7 to 14, is an exciting four-week session which provides daily lessons in art, music, dance, and drama, along with special activities, field trips, and the opportunity to perform in a live musical theatre presentation.
We will hold two sessions this summer (Monday – Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm):
- Session 1: Monday, June 30 to Friday, July 25
- Session 2: Monday, July 28 to Friday, August 22
This multi-arts program is designed to provide our youth with a comprehensive arts program during the summer in a safe, stimulating, and fun environment. Students may enroll in one or both sessions.
At Camp LAMAS students are engaged in various lessons and activities such as:
- Music History and Appreciation – Here, students are exposed to a wide variety of vocal and instrumental music, spanning many time periods, countries and cultures. Plus, students have the opportunity to explore their creativity by composing original music.
- Art – While learning about color, dimension, composition, form, and light, students learn the basics of various visual art forms. Students learn these techniques as they create artwork using a variety of materials.
- Dance – At Camp LAMAS, students receive an
introduction to various dance forms and learn a variety of fundamental movements choreographed to many different musical styles.
- Drama – Basic exercises and techniques for acting and improvisation are taught to students. In addition, students participate in a fully staged production of a classic musical.
- Field Trips – Each session includes excursions to local museums and other cultural and educational locations.
Each session is limited to 48 students. The cost is $480 per child per session when full payment is made prior to the first day of the Camp session.
