CampMusArt students take pictures with the performers from “Singin’ in the Rain”
On Friday, July 17th, CampMusArt 2015 students attended a matinee performance of “Singin’ in the Rain” at the Carpenter Performing Arts Center in Long beach.
As part of their curriculum, CampMusArt students experienced being audience members of a live musical performance and learned about theater etiquette. Dressed to impress, the students watched the first act of the famous musical, “Singin’ in the Rain”.
At the Q&A session after the show, the students were eager to ask their questions about the show, stage, and props. Many students were curious about the stage setup and how the actors and actresses were able to perform with all the different props and backdrops. The cast shared their love for theater and their experiences performing on stage, which inspired our young performers, who for he past four weeks have been hard at work rehearsing for their performance of Shrek Jr.
As the students left the theater, the cast took pictures with them and gave them autographs. They encouraged the students to continue loving the arts and chasing their dreams.
CampMusArt is a 5-week arts intensive summer program. Students take classes in dance, music, drama, and art, while working together to produce a fully staged musical. CampMusArt will be performing Shrek the Musical Jr. this Friday, July 24th .
