Best thing about LAMusArt: Fun

Enzo Chavez, age 10, has been a student at LAMusArt for nearly four years. He started his path at the school as a Camp MusArt student, landing the role of Jetsam, one of Ursula’s evil eels, in The Little Mermaid.

Since then, Enzo has continued to perform in Camp MusArt productions like Shrek and The Lion King. When asked what his favorite memory of his three years as a camper is, Enzo said, “Working and rehearsing with the props.”

Enzo has also taken several music classes, including violin with Miss Solis and piano with Mr. White. He is an avid member of the Tuition-free Choir, as well.

Recently, Enzo expanded his participation in the arts by joining LAMusArt’s new drama course, Playmaking, where kids learn the fundamentals of playwriting over the course of 10 weeks. His original play will be performed by professional actors in December 2017.

As for the near future, Enzo hopes to get into guitar lessons, and to pave the way for his little brother to engage in the arts. With few options for arts engagement at school, Mr. Chavez is happy to have a diverse slate of arts lessons to choose from.

“I like [LAMusArt] because they have all these classes, and it’s fun.” We’re excited to see what Enzo does next!
