Born in Santa Cruz, California, Amaris Pueyes grew up most of her life in Chile and traveling through South America. This opportunity sparked a curiosity for cultures and later a passion for dance in the countries she traveled to. To date she has had the privilege of dancing on international stages, specifically in Brazil, Chile, South Korea, New Zealand, Barbados, Argentina, Uruguay, and the US.
As much as she loves performing, Amaris has expanded her career as a choreographer and dance instructor for over 4 years. Her focus and mission has been to bring dance educational programs for under-resourced communities in countries of South America, ages ranging from K-12 and adults. She also has choreographed and directed dance performances showcased in communities where this art is undervalued or not well known.
Throughout the years she has trained in various dance styles, from classical ballet to hip-hop and continues expanding her craft through her studies. Amaris’ commitment to dance is motivated by the opportunity to continue opening doors for people that have little to no access to the world of storytelling through movement and expression.
