Tiffany Poon

Tiffany Poon is a Bay Area native who studied at Manhattan School of Music, completing her MM in Instrumental Accompanying with Heasook Rhee and BM in Piano Performance with Nina Svetlanova. During her studies, her piano trio was selected to perform the New York premiere of a commissioned work in Carnegie Hall. As a collaborative pianist, she has performed in other distinguished venues such as Symphony Space and the National Arts Club in New York City, and is a prizewinner in the U.S. Open Music Competition. She has attended festivals such as Rebecca Penney’s Piano Festival and Montecito International Music Festival and has taken master classes for solo and chamber music with Enrico Elisi and Gilbert Kalish, respectively.

Tiffany’s teaching philosophy is to foster a questioning and curious approach to music—asking “whys” to understand the history and style of each piece. She believes a curious student is an engaged student, and an engaged student has a greater willingness to learn.

Aside from music, Tiffany loves drawing, drinking boba, and telling bad jokes. One of her favorite jokes is “What is Beethoven’s favorite fruit?” (talk to her and find out!)
