The Young Professionals Advisory Board (YPAB) held their first ever Spook-tacular Evening to help raise funds for LAMusArt’s Tuition-free Choir on Friday, October 13th. The intimate wine-tasting event took place at Silverlake Wine on Glendale Boulevard and hosted nearly 60 LAMusArt supporters and friends.
The evening overflowed with delicious wines from California vineyards and the drawing at the end of the night was replete with coveted items like four VIP tickets to the Broad Stage and restaurant gift cards. YPAB Chair, Rich Graham, emceed the drawing, where eight lucky guests walked away with a prize. The event also featured a pumpkin decorating station, courtesy of Dick Blick Art Materials, for guests to apply their DIY Halloween skills.
The Event Committee Chair, Mike Robles, was thrilled with the results of the festive evening.
“The Young Professionals Advisory Board is grateful for your attendance this evening, and we all appreciate your support of arts education programs for underserved East Los Angeles youth,” Robles stated.
The YPAB is a fundraising body comprised of young professionals between the ages of 24 to 40 who are experts in their respective fields. The YPAB was established in 2015 by Manuel Prieto to benefit LAMusArt’s tuition-free arts instruction, specifically the Tuition-free Choir. The YPAB successfully reinstated the Choir in 2016 after a two year hiatus due to lack of funding. Today, the Choir serves over 20 students per month.
The YPAB’s next event in support of LAMusArt programs will be the Winter Benefit Posada on Saturday, December 9th. To learn more, click here.
