Featuring: Ammy Ontiveros, Arthur Keng, Bernard Addison, Ebony Howard, Liz Morrison, Jor-el Vaasborg, Marnina Schon, Stephanie T. Keefer, Tarah Pollock and Tiana Randall-Quant.

 

Witness 5 brand new plays come to life this evening.  Playmaking, is an innovative and immersive program that engages students ages 9 – 11 in the fundamentals of playwriting over the course of 10 weeks, culminating in a public performance of the student-written work by adult actors.

SPRING CONCERT: LAMusArt Ensembles

Featuring: LAMusArt Students from our Tuition-Free Ensembles

Students who have been working in isolation for over 12 months had the special opportunity to film an outdoor concert for this special occasion.  Singing and playing in small groups for the first time in over a year, the ensembles get together to express joy and kick off our THRIVE campaign raising important funds to sustain our year-round, free music ensemble programs and private lesson scholarship fund.

SWING: Fabulous Esquires Big Band

Featuring:  14 Piece Orchestra with Special Guest Vocalists

Special Performances featuring two of LA's best swing dancers

 

The talented and versatile Esquires will delight the whole family, playing a variety of music in addition to the Big Band Swing music you know and love. Stan Kenton formed the Esquires in 1958 alongside Paul Colaluca and they have been filling dance halls and events ever since. Now you can enjoy them on the soundstage from the comfort of your home! Join us for a swinging summer night with the Fabulous Esquires Big Band!

DANCE: Versa Style
Featuring: Anthony Berry, Brandon Juezan, Cynthia Hernandez, Ernesto Galarza, Harry Weston, Jessi Pontillas and Leigh Foaad

LA-based dance company presents an exciting evening of Hip-Hop. Dancers will show freedom of expression and individuality, hard work, self-discipline and dedication to the form in an exciting, high-intensity evening of performances showcasing styles such as 90s Hip-Hop, House, Popping, Locking, Whacking and Boogaloo complemented by Afro- Latin styles such as Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia and Afro-Cuban-- you won’t want to miss it!

FUNDRAISER: Eastside Music Project
Featuring: Will-Dog Abers from Ozomatli and LAMusArt students from our Latin Jazz Ensemble with support from the CA Arts Council. 

 

Celebrating the sounds of LA’s Eastside Latin Music Landscape from 1940 to today, this special performance is part of our initiatives for libraries and schools to receive free music education resources during their hybrid learning period. With music by Lalo Guerrero, Tierra, Los Lobos, Ozomatli, Quetzal and other titans of the music industry as interpreted by our LAMusArt Jazz ensemble. ​

CABARET: Musical Theater & Pop Night

Featuring: Chris Bona, Paul Rico & Charlotte Mary Wen with Richard An on piano.

 

An intimate concert featuring Southern California’s best voices celebrating music from the past and present from composers such as Jason Robert Brown, Alan Menken and Jonathan Larson.  You may remember Charlotte from our 75th Birthday Bash, and from the touring production of Hamilton the Musical and Chris and Paul from their numerous appearances on SoCal stages including the Hyperion stage at Disney’s California Adventure.

CLASSICAL: An Evening with Esther Rayo

Featuring: Esther Renee Rayo and Brendan White on piano with support from the Colburn Foundation.

 

Join SoCal native soprano, Esther Renee Rayo as she takes us on a classical musical journey through the Spanish works such as “Canciones Clásicas Españolas” by Fernando Obradors, Enrique Granados’ “Colección de Tonadillas”  and Alberto Ginastera’s “Cinco Canciones Populares Argentinas”. A truly remarkable evening featuring works performed entirely in spanish.
