On Saturday, October 18th, LAMusArt’s Youth Choir and Advanced Choir haunted the Courtyard Stage for “Melodies in the Moonlight,” a concert filled with Halloween-themed music to fit the season! Students dressed in their best costumes for this evening, filled with spooky fun, including a raffle with fangtastic prizes.
Under the moonlight, choir director Melina Adragna welcomed the audience dressed as Gomez from the Addams Family. LAMusArt’s Youth Choir crept onto the stage and opened up with a “Nightmare Before Christmas” Medley. They then wowed the audience with their beautiful harmonies in “Castle on a Cloud” and “A La Nita.” The Youth Choir closed their set with “Addams Family Theme" featuring some helpful snaps from the audience.
Soon after, the Advanced Choir began their set with “In Noctem” from Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, with “The Ballad of Witches Road” following the spooktacular opening. Student Syriany then read a passage from “Entrance to Jane Doe” out loud, while the rest of the choir members filled the space with their haunting voices. The night ended with an exciting rendition of “Ballad of Sweeney Todd,” which featured Julio singing the opening line with other members chiming in.

As the concert came to an end, it was time to pick winners for the raffle! Prizes for the raffle included a Monster High Sweet Screams “Twyla” Doll and a Turtles of Grayskull “Skele-Shredder” Action Figure. Winners went home happy with their brand new wares.
LAMusArt would like to thank everyone who was in attendance for supporting our Tuition-Free Programs. We would also like to extend a special thank you to choir director Melina Adragna, accompanist Nicholas Mendez, and choir assistant Adriana Ortega for their hard work and dedication to this event.
