LAMusArt students perform for Thalia

On Friday, December 6, 2013, international singer and actress Thalia Sodi celebrated the season of giving with LAMusArt students.

Macy’s fifth annual National Believe Day launched at the Macy’s Glendale Galleria with talented LAMusArt students, Make-A-Wish families and Macys Executives.

Thalia, who received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last week spoke about the importance of giving and the importance of believing in children’s talents. The heart of Macy’s “Believe” campaign is to grant young individuals the opportunity to have their wishes come true.

Analise Hoveyda, age 9, set the cheerful holiday mood by singing “All I want for Christmas is You”. Following the up-tempo performance by Azucena Ortega, age 8, interpreting the holiday classic “O Holy Night”. Closing the musical performances was Tiffany Cruz singing Macy’s theme song “Yes Virginia, there is a  Santa Claus” and “Jingle Bell Rock”.

National Believe Day aims to inspire Americans to spread the spirit of generosity throughout the holiday season, LAMusArt students were the first to write and mail their letter to Santa with the help of Thalia and deposited together in the red Santa Mail letterbox. Macy’s “Believe” campaign, which runs now through December 24, invites children of all ages to mail their letters to Santa at their local Macy’s by depositing them in the red mailboxes inside each store. For every letter mailed, Macy’s will donate $1, up to $1 million to Make-A-Wish.
