Student Profile: Kassandra R. U.

Nine-year-old Kassandra R.U. has quickly become one of the busiest and brightest young artists on our campus. Since joining LAMusArt in March 2024, she’s explored ballet, art, singing, and strings with a curiosity that has taken her through all disciplines in our school.

Kassandra first came to LAMusArt at just seven years old after her parents happened to drive by our building.Nearly two years later, she’s a true multi-disciplinary artist.This month alone, she danced in The Land of Sweets: Tiny Tunes & Dancing Delights, will take the stage for her voice recital, she is preparing to perform again in Harmony of the Holidays as part of the String Ensemble, and will finish the month with a Drama I Performance.

Kassandra says she feels herself improving with every class. “I feel like I get better every time I’m at LAMusArt.” She has not chosen a favorite teacher yet. “Right now I can’t decide which teacher is my favorite.”

Her favorite memory so far comes from performing in her voice recital. “It was fun.” Outside of LAMusArt, Kassandra enjoys building robots in her club, Robotex. She also has a thoughtful take on the arts. “They are important because they wake up a part in you and then you know how to do art.”

Kassandra dreams of becoming a singer and knows her classes are helping her reach that goal. “Taking classes here really helps me.” She is proud to be part of the LAMusArt community. “I am proud that I am in the school, LAMusArt.” And for anyone thinking about joining, she says simply, “Come to LAMusArt, they offer very fun classes.”

With her creativity, energy, and determination, Kassandra continues to grow as both a musician and performer. From recitals to rehearsals, every moment at LAMusArt is helping her shine brighter, and the future is full of possibilities for this talented young artist.
