Best thing about LAMusArt: Relaxing, Being with friends

Max Lopez is a seven year old second grader who first came to LAMusArt as an art student. Since joining the LAMusArt family, Max has taken lessons in drums from Mr. Moore, and voice from Mr. Chanu.

Max recently participated in Camp MusArt’s The Lion King Jr. as a Bird Puppeteer and Assistant Director to Mr. Luke Kanter. He helped run rehearsals throughout the five week program, and enjoyed his daily classes in art, music, dance, and drama. This marks his second year as a camper; he was an ensemble member and a “Jungle Creature” in last year’s Camp MusArt production of Seussical.

When asked what his favorite memory of camp is, Max told us, “Playing tag at camp with everyone, playing duck-duck-goose, and hanging out with friends. It’s the best, you’ll have a blast!”

Although music runs in Max’s family, he has different plans for the future.

“I want to be a police officer,” says Max. Max hopes to return to Camp MusArt in 2018, and to continue to learn how to play the drums. Great job, Max!
