Charli Kemp was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, attended Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia where she double majored in Economics and Political Science to earn her B.A. Upon graduation from college, Charli joined Teach for America in New York City. She taught middle school math for 5 years in inner city New York. While teaching, Charli integrated music, technology, and cooking into her teaching to motivate and inspire her children to develop an understanding of and passion for mathematics. After teaching for 5 years she decided she wanted to make more of an impact within communities similar to the one she worked with. Charli returned home to Los Angeles where she received a full fellowship to attend USC’s Marshall School of Business. Charli is currently is working for Green Dot Public Schools as a Cluster Business Manager, and working developing her own social impact venture.
