This year especially has brought on new challenges and unprecedented change, and yet through it all the support of people like you ensure a bright future for hundreds of children each year.  When arts education funding was just beginning to achieve growth, our school districts will once again see budget cuts affecting meaningful instruction in music and the arts, leaving children bereft of an in-school education that will prepare them for a promising creative future.  Of course, this loss of funding makes our presence even more crucial for the community, however, the current state of public health has halted our in-person programs and performances, causing a gap in crucial revenue. Now, more than ever, access to safe and creative outlets is imperative for the social-emotional development of our local youth.

LAMusArt’s mission resists these setbacks to provide youth with equitable access to the arts without regard to ability, age, ethnicity or income when our schools are unable to do so.  Our annual Stars for the Arts Benefit, the event that traditionally helps us carry out this mission for the year, is postponed to 2021 when we may gather safely and pay commensurate tribute to our past.  While we cannot gather in person, we must still come together in solidarity for our community of students and Teaching Artists. Your participation will ensure our success.
